Larach

4 bedroom stone clad bungalow in Argyll

Larach, Kilmartin Glen

For Mr & Mrs Pascoe, their dream looked like a 220sq metre retirement home built into the side of a hill in Kilmartin Glen, Argyll.

Summary

Timber framed bungalow with stone cladding.

4 bedrooms Featuring an Orangery

Build Time - 8 Months

  • Underfloor heating throughout

  • UPVC Orangery

  • Stone cladding used extensively

  • Air Source heat pump

We worked closely with their architect to build them a 4 bed, timber framed bungalow with underfloor heating throughout.

Stone cladding was used extensively on the exterior to achieve a traditional character. A focal point for the build was the Pascoe's much desired Orangery, where they could plant and tend to trees in the comfort of their own home.

The expansive 10 x 5metre living room was furnished with a double-sided wood burner. The other side of the burner is accessed from the second living room. The wood burner included a fully internal chimney.

Traditional stone cladding. Hardwood timber windows and doors leading out onto a wooden decking.

The Pascoe's wanted an eco-friendly, energy efficient means of heating their home. To achieve this, we combined an Air Source heat pump (shown at the back of the house) with underfloor heating, and the option of using their double-sided wood burner.

Sunroom complete with underfloor heating.

Open plan kitchen with Gas range cooker and underfloor heating.
